Louis Pasteur had a gun!

Louis Pasteur is a French chemist and microbiologist who is well known for his discoveries of the principles of vaccination, microbial fermentation and pasteurization.

In the 1800's, when he turned his attention to curing Rabies, he made sure to have a loaded gun in his laboratory at all times. During these time, Pasteur and his assistants studied live rabid dogs and collected saliva from them. The risk of one of these dogs running loose was big, but the gun was not intended for the dogs.

It was for him and his assistants for when one of them were bitten, they were to shoot the person in the head.

Science haz ballz.
